As with so many people, in 2020 Mike’s career took a new turn and he decided to set up Blue House Computer Help.
However, his passion for making computers work began much younger than this, and as a teenager he could often be found beavering away trying to solve one technological issue or another. He fondly remembers the days of installing a Sound Blaster driver on Windows 3.1 from twelve floppy disks.
He has worked in IT for almost 2 decades, most recently as a Senior Support Technincian for a software company in the taxi industry. Here he was known as the “calm guy on the end of the phone“ who was unflappable in any crisis. He has always enjoyed the relational, “human” side of IT.
Mike was born in California and moved to the UK at the beginning of 2003. He was only planning on coming to the UK for a few months but then he met Emily and the rest, as they say, is history.
When not knuckling down in his workshop with his head in a computer, Mike can often be found spending time with his wife and his three children, and looking after their nine hens and two cats. Mike also loves making and listening to music, a walk across the fields, and spending time by the sea.
Let’s face it. A computer can be like a pet elephant. When it’s working well it can do the heavy lifting that we could never do ourselves, but when it isn’t, it can turn into a an untameable, havoc wreaking mess.
And does the process of figuring out how to fix it have to be so complicated and time consuming? What if there was a better way…
At Blue House Computer Help, you can get friendly, straightforward help and advice, and avoid having to spend days and days fruitlessly searching the internet trying a hundred different non-solutions.
I know that pain; I’ve been there a hundred times myself. I can bring my elephant taming experience to the game, so you can get back to doing the things you do best.
